This Building Your Own MLM List article will illustrate the most effective ways to put the Internet to work so that you can build your own MLM list of warm interested leads for your MLM or network marketing opportunity. Using the Internet to build a list of warm interested leads allows you to attract and build relationships with your leads so they are more likely to buy from you and to join your business opportunity.

But before you can sell them anything and before you ever mention anything about your opportunity, you must let them get to know you and to build their trust in you. You'll do that through your website and email. That's why building your own MLM list is so important.

But before we begin to talk about generating and attracting leads, we need to understand the basic fundamental principles that this building your own MLM list strategy is built upon. There are no secrets here... it's not rocket science. It is a lot of good common sense, but it is the opposite of what you've been taught in traditional network marketing methods.

Principle #1: People Won't Believe You or Buy From You Until they Know You and Trust You

The process of building your own MLM list will help your target audience get to know you and trust you. Traditional network marketing methods suggest that you write a list of the names of your closed 200 friends and family members that you can talk to about your business opportunity. They use friends and family members because they already know you and hopefully they trust you meaning that it might be easier to convince them to join your business.

There is one glaring problem with that.... Your friends and family members may not be interested in your business opportunity. The traditional method says... "these people already know you and trust you" so they'll believe you and buy from you. As most of you have found out... that's not exactly true nor is it a great way to build your business. Using the Internet for building your own MLM list is!

On the Internet, the person behind a website is just a nameless faceless person. Visitors to your website don't know anything about you until you tell them. They came to your website because they were searching for the information that you are providing, BUT that doesn't mean they'll believe you because they don't know you yet, and just because they found your website, doesn't mean they're going to trust you.

 

Building your Internet network marketing business means turning things around from what the traditional MLM methods suggest that you do. On the Internet, your audience found you because they were looking for the information. Now your job is to let them get to know you and trust you before you approach them about your business opportunity. You've already attracted them to your website. Now you have to let them get to know you and build trust with them.

The worst thing you could do is to try to give them a sales pitch about your opportunity before they have a chance to get to know you and trust you. So how do you do that?

Building Your Own MLM List - Step 1.

First, you have to personalize your website. Tell them who you are, where you grew up, went to school, how you got into network marketing. Be real with them... Tell them your story. Give them something they can identify with on a personal level instead of some nameless, faceless, website. Tell them who you are and let them get to know you. They'll appreciate your honesty and candor.

Second, you have to share your experience and expertise. You have information that your audience is needing. That's why they went searching for it. Give it to them. Give them something of value in exchange for their contact information. That's the "secret" to building your own list. It's figuring out what you can create that you can five to your target audience in exchange for their contact information.

Principle #2: People are Likely to Trust You if They Receive Something of Value from You - You Must Pay It Forward

Before you can approach your prospect about your business opportunity, you must allow them to know you and trust you. The best way to do that is to give them something of value. You must "pay it forward" and give them something of value... something they're looking for to help build trust and your relationship with them.

When you build value first, you attract better leads. Your leads are more interested in

you and what you have to offer because trust has already been established. You can't approach your prospect about your business opportunity until you've proven yourself as someone with a solution for them. When you provide value first, they are much more likely to see you as a solutions provider and they will be more open to buying from you and to hearing about your business.

Some of you might be asking yourself... "What could I possibly provide that would be perceived as having value for my website visitor?" Well there are probably a lot of things that you know about or that you could create that your target audience would find valuable. Much depends on the topic of your website and what you know about it or the research you can do to learn about it and then create something of value to share that information.

For example, perhaps your MLM is in the health and wellness industry. Write a report on wellness products and give it away on your web page in exchange for contact information from your target audience. Maybe your MLM has something to do with cooking and food. Create an eBook on cooking recipes for vegetarians or something similar. No matter what the subject of your MLM opportunity, there is something about your product or industry that you can create that would be valuable to your target audience.

The key to building your own MLM list on the Internet is to create something of value that you can exchange with your prospect for their name and email address.

Principle #3: You Must Build Your Own List of Warm Prospects

Why Build Your Own List Instead of Buying Leads?

Building your own MLM list is much better than buying MLM leads and here's why. When you buy leads from any one of dozens of MLM lead brokers, you're buying leads that have been sold multiple times. How do you think those people feel when they get there eight or ninth call from a network marketer trying to sell them on their business opportunity. You're just like all the other telemarketers when you call.

You have no credibility. They don't know you personally and you have no way to establish that connection. They haven't benefited from you or the relationship so they don't trust you. You're still going to have to earn their trust by trying to build a relationship with them one by one.

Build Your Own List by Attracting Your Own MLM Leads

Contrast that with building your own list of warm prospect leads by giving them something of value in exchange for their contact information. Your prospect is already interested because he searched for your information, so you know he's interested. Not only is he interested but you've provided him an eBook or a report or something that he saw enough value in to give you his name and email address.

He or she already knows you before you ever call him. They have benefited from your relationship because they received something of value from you.

You attract people who share your interest and have something in common with you which also helps to build trust. Now that you have their contact information, you can continue to provide value to them through regular emails or a newsletter which builds more trust. It may even get them calling you or emailing you first, or they may be purchasing whatever you're recommending to them.

Once you've built your own MLM prospect list, you have multiple opportunities to not only present your business opportunity, but also to present other opportunities to your list that results in income opportunities for you.

By building your own MLM prospect list in this way, you've made your business fun. No longer will you be worrying about approaching your friends and family about your network marketing opportunity. Instead you've got a real business process in place that brings warm prospects to you. Instead of chasing after people who have no interest in your business opportunity, you set yourself up as a solutions provider for those that are interested and want to know more about you and the information you can provide.

Now you're leveraging your knowledge about your products and opportunity and you spend you time answering questions and qualifying leads who came to you and who are interested in finding out more. How much better is that than what you've been experiencing in your network marketing business?
